Yesterday marked the conclusion of the Positive Discipline Workshop, led by Maritere Soto, Preschool Vice Principal and Certified Positive Discipline Trainer by the PDA (Positive Discipline Association), with the participation of Preschool parents.
For our community, this workshop represented a valuable opportunity to explore tools and strategies that support our students’ development, while promoting respectful, empathetic, and responsible relationships at home.
“Positive Discipline is based on respect and teaching children to take responsibility for their decisions. This aligns with the IB (International Baccalaureate) by helping them develop essential life skills,” explains Maritere.
As a school certified by the Positive Discipline Association (PDA) as a Positive Discipline Lab School, JFK reaffirms its commitment to fostering an educational and respectful approach to discipline across all school sections.
By applying the same strategies both at home and at school, teachers and parents work together to support the well-rounded growth of our students, nurturing an environment of respect, trust, and continuous learning.
More and more families are joining this six-session workshop, demonstrating their commitment to strengthening connections with their children and cultivating a positive parenting environment. The enthusiastic participation of parents in this initiative stands as a testament to the JFK community’s dedication to the well-being and future of their children—and of society as a whole.
Ayer concluyó el Taller de Disciplina Positiva, dirigido por Maritere Soto, Preschool Vice Principal y Entrenadora Certificada en Disciplina Positiva por la Positive Discipline Association (PDA), con la participación de padres de familia de Pre School.
Para nuestra comunidad, este curso representa una valiosa oportunidad para profundizar en herramientas y enfoques que fortalecen el desarrollo de nuestros alumnos, promoviendo relaciones basadas en el respeto, la empatía y la responsabilidad en casa.
“La Disciplina Positiva se basa en el respeto y en enseñar a los niños a asumir la responsabilidad de sus decisiones. Esto se alinea con el Bachillerato Internacional (IB) al ayudarlos a desarrollar habilidades para la vida”, explicó Maritere.
Como escuela certificada por la Positive Discipline Association (PDA) como Positive Discipline Lab School, el JFK reafirma su compromiso de mantener un enfoque educativo y respetuoso de la disciplina en todas las secciones escolares.
Al aplicar las mismas herramientas tanto en casa como en la escuela, docentes y padres colaboran para apoyar el crecimiento integral de los estudiantes, fomentando un ambiente de respeto, confianza y aprendizaje.
Cada vez más familias se suman a este curso de seis sesiones, demostrando su interés en fortalecer los lazos con sus hijos y crear un entorno familiar positivo. La participación activa de los padres en este taller es un reflejo del compromiso de la comunidad JFK con el bienestar y el futuro de sus hijos, así como con el de nuestra sociedad.
