This February 1st, the “Ponte vivo” event was held by the foundation “Salvemos nuestra vida” for Middle School and High School students. This event supports our FCD (Freedom From Chemical Dependency) program with the purpose of generating awareness in our students about the danger of abuse in the consumption of alcohol and other substances.
It was a very emotional event in which the students had the opportunity to witness a simulation of a car crash where a group of friends, leaving the club under the influence of alcohol, had an accident in which unfortunately one of them lost his life.
Later, the students were directed to the auditorium where they listened attentively to Claudia Quijas Mirabal, Carlos Alberto Quijas Mirabal who due to a car accident while drunk unfortunately suffered irreversible brain damage, Luis Miguel Díaz Castell a car driver for more than 20 years, and José Carlos Tellaeche Cross, who unfortunately also had an accident at the age of 16 when he was on his way to school, and with the intention of arriving on time to school increased his speed while driving causing an accident leaving him with highly serious brain damage.
The event definitely had a strong impact in our students that we hope will lead them to a higher level of awareness regarding decision making to benefit their overall health.
After this event our students will be addressing the topic in different subjects, as we shared in the official announcement last week.
Surely your son / daughter has shared this experience with you and we believe that it is a good opportunity to continue talking and sharing about it at home because the family is the most important part to instill responsibility in these situations and many others.
We appreciate the collaboration of everyone who participated in the organization of this event and the members of the JFK council and the associations of the different sections of the school for attending on behalf of the parent community.

Este 1° de febrero se
llevó acabo el evento “Ponte vivo” por parte de la empresa
“Salvemos nuestra vida” para alumnos de Middle School y High School,
dicho evento apoya nuestro programa FCD (Freedom From Chemical Dependency) con
la finalidad de generar consciencia en nuestros alumnos ante el peligro del
abuso en consumo de alcohol y otras substancias.
Fue un evento muy emotivo en el que para comenzar, los alumnos tuvieron la
oportunidad de presenciar un simulacro sobre un choque automovilístico en el que
un grupo de amigos al salir del antro bajo los influjos del alcohol tienen un
accidente en el que lamentablemente uno de ellos pierde la vida.
Posteriormente los alumnos fueron dirigidos al auditorio principal en donde
escucharon atentamente a Claudia Quijas Mirabal, Carlos Alberto Quijas Mirabal
quien a causa de un accidente automovilístico en estado etílico,
lamentablemente, sufrió un daño cerebral irreversible, Luis Miguel Díaz Castell
corredor de autos desde hace más de 20 años, y a José Carlos Tellaeche Cross
quien lamentablemente también tuvo a sus 16 años un accidente cuando se
dirigía a la escuela y por no llegar tarde aumentó la velocidad al conducir ocasionando
un accidente dejando en él un daño cerebral de alta gravedad.
El evento definitivamente causó en nuestros alumnos un impacto fuerte que
esperamos los lleve a un mayor nivel de conciencia en cuanto a la toma de
decisiones en beneficio de su salud integral.
Después de este evento nuestros alumnos estarán abordando el tema en diferentes
materias, como lo compartimos en el comunicado oficial de la semana pasada.
Seguramente tu hijo / hija ha compartido esta experiencia contigo y creemos que
es una buena oportunidad para que en casa se siga abordando el tema pues es la
familia la parte más importante para inculcar la responsabilidad ante estas
situaciones y muchas otras más.
Agradecemos la colaboración de todos los que participaron en la organización de
este evento y a los miembros del consejo de JFK y de las asociaciones de las
diferentes secciones de la escuela por acudir en representación de la comunidad
de padres de familia.
