In this activity, High School students in SWAS wrote a script and performed a role-play in pairs, where one student acted as an interviewer and the other as an environmentalist. The discussion focused on the environmental impact of artificial intelligence (AI)—specifically ChatGPT—and the effect of Studio Ghibli-style picture generation on traditional cartoonist jobs.
Students delivered a 5- to 8-minute interview where they explored the following topics:
- The environmental impact of using ChatGPT, including how many liters of water were used in AI model operations and the refrigeration process of the data servers that supported AI platforms.
- The recent rise of AI-generated images, particularly Studio Ghibli-style pictures, and its implications.
They focused on how this trend affected the environment and the potential loss of jobs for traditional cartoonists and artists due to AI-generated art. Students researched, discussed, wrote the script, and performed the interview as if it were part of a TV show. The activity took place in the library, as students needed a quiet environment for recording.
En esta actividad, los alumnos de High School en SWAS escribieron un guion y realizaron una dramatización por parejas, en la que un alumno actuó como entrevistador y el otro como ambientalista. La conversación se centró en el impacto ambiental de la inteligencia artificial (IA), específicamente ChatGPT, y en el efecto de la generación de imágenes al estilo Studio Ghibli en los empleos de caricaturistas tradicionales.
