As part of thier unit of inquiry under the transdisciplinary theme “How we organize ourselves”, and in connection with the central idea “Understanding the risks of natural disasters helps us prepare and take better care of ourselves,” our 3rd grade students participated in a series of educational experiences focused on prevention and safety.
First, they attended a talk by the Civil Protection Department of the state of Querétaro, where they learned essential information about how to prevent natural disasters and what to do in case of an emergency. Later, they participated in a separate conference led by Claudio Patiño, JFK’s Safety and Health Coordinator, who spoke about school-based preventive measures and how to act responsibly in risky situations.
Through these sessions, students explored important concepts such as planning, risk, and responsibility, deepening their understanding and awareness of how to stay safe.
It was, without a doubt, a meaningful experience that will help them be better prepared to care for themselves and others in the face of potential emergencies.

Como parte de su unidad de indagación bajo el tema transdisciplinario “Cómo nos organizamos”, y en torno a la idea central “Entender los riesgos de los desastres naturales nos ayuda a prepararnos y cuidarnos mejor”, los alumnos de 3° grado participaron en una serie de experiencias educativas centradas en la prevención y seguridad.
En primer lugar, recibieron una charla por parte de Protección Civil del estado de Querétaro, quienes les compartieron información clave sobre cómo prevenir desastres naturales y actuar en caso de emergencia. Posteriormente, asistieron a una conferencia impartida por Claudio Patiño, Coordinador de Seguridad y Salud del JFK, enfocada en las medidas preventivas dentro del entorno escolar y cómo actuar de forma responsable ante una situación de riesgo.
Gracias a estas actividades, los estudiantes reflexionaron sobre conceptos como planeación, riesgo y responsabilidad, fortaleciendo su comprensión y conciencia ante posibles situaciones de emergencia.
Sin duda, fue una experiencia significativa que los ayudará a estar mejor preparados y a cuidar de sí mismos y de los demás.
