During this week’s Flag Ceremony, our first-grade students shared how an idea can be transformed into meaningful action. Last year, when they were in Prefirst, they learned about the importance of signs and symbols as tools to help us communicate and understand one another.
This learning took place within the transdisciplinary theme “How We Organize Ourselves”, with the central idea: “We use signs and symbols to help us understand each other and communicate with others.”
As part of their learning experiences, students explored different areas of the school to identify spaces where signage was needed. They later invited Mr. Dunn, Elementary School Principal, to share their observations and proposals, along with the drawings they created to encourage respect for areas where students should walk and not run.
Mr. Dunn shared these ideas with the Marcom team, who supported the creation of the signs that can now be seen throughout the Elementary School hallways.
Without a doubt, this initiative represents meaningful and lasting action, leaving a valuable legacy of care, safety, and well-being for the entire community, and showing how learning can lead to real impact.

Durante la Flag Ceremony de esta semana, nuestros alumnos de primer grado compartieron cómo una idea puede transformarse en una acción significativa. El año pasado, cuando cursaban Prefirst, aprendieron sobre la importancia de las señales y los símbolos como medios para comunicarnos y comprendernos mejor.
Este aprendizaje se desarrolló dentro del tema transdisciplinario “Cómo nos organizamos”, con la idea central: “We use signs and symbols to help us understand each other and communicate with others.”
Como parte de sus experiencias de aprendizaje, los alumnos recorrieron distintos espacios de la escuela para identificar áreas donde era necesario colocar señalización. Posteriormente, invitaron a Mr. Dunn, Elementary School Principal, para compartirle sus observaciones y propuestas, así como los dibujos que realizaron para promover el respeto de las áreas donde se debe caminar y no correr.
Mr. Dunn llevó estas ideas al equipo de Marcom, quienes apoyaron en la creación de las señales que hoy pueden verse en los pasillos de Elementary School.
Sin duda, se trata de una acción significativa y perdurable, que deja un valioso legado de cuidado, protección y bienestar para toda la comunidad, demostrando cómo el aprendizaje puede generar un impacto real.
