As part of the transdisciplinary theme “Where we are in place and time,” 1st grade students have been working with the central idea: “Leadership is essential for communities to thrive.” Through various activities, they have learned how leadership influences the well-being and functioning of a community.
To better understand this concept, the students participated in a series of talks with different school leaders, who shared what their roles involve, the responsibilities they have, and the decisions they make on a daily basis. Among the guests were the Elementary School Principal, the Assistant Principal, and the Elementary Student Council, as well as representatives from the Library Media Center, Events, and Security.
During these conversations, students not only asked questions about the tasks performed in each role, but also discovered what the guests enjoy most about their jobs and learned a few personal details about their lives. This experience allowed students to identify different types of leadership and reflect on the importance of each role within the JFK community.
With great curiosity and active participation, our 1st grade students are building a strong foundation to become responsible and committed leaders in their communities.
Como parte del tema transdisciplinario “Dónde nos encontramos en el tiempo y en el espacio”, los alumnos de 1º grado han estado trabajando con la idea central: “El liderazgo es importante para que las comunidades sean exitosas.” A través de diversas actividades, han aprendido cómo el liderazgo influye en el bienestar y funcionamiento de una comunidad.
Para comprender mejor este concepto, los niños participaron en una serie de charlas con distintos líderes de nuestra escuela, quienes compartieron con ellos en qué consiste su puesto, cuáles son sus responsabilidades y qué decisiones deben tomar en su día a día. Entre los invitados estuvieron el director, la asistente y el Consejo Estudiantil de Elementary School, así como representantes del Library Media Center, Eventos y Seguridad.
Durante estas charlas, los alumnos no solo resolvieron dudas sobre las actividades que realiza cada persona, sino que también conocieron qué es lo que más disfrutan de su trabajo y algunos aspectos de su vida personal. Esta experiencia les permitió identificar distintos tipos de liderazgo y reflexionar sobre la importancia de cada rol dentro de la comunidad JFK.
Con gran curiosidad y participación activa, nuestros alumnos de 1º grado están construyendo una base sólida para convertirse en líderes responsables y comprometidos con su entorno.
