At the end of November, five of our students were invited to participate in the first training camp for the National Preselection of the Liga Nacional de Clubes Amateur de Básquetbol MX (LNCA) in the U13, U15, and U17 male categories. Alongside youth from various states across the country, our students took part in physical and technical tests designed to evaluate their skills and potential.
Additionally, Coach Jorge Lardinois, a valued member of our coaching staff, was invited to join the technical team for this process, further demonstrating JFK’s commitment to athletic excellence.
The Experience in Their Own Words
Each selected player experienced this unique moment in their own way. Jesús Guerrero shared his excitement about being called up: “I felt excited, happy, and also a little nervous. What I enjoyed the most was the training because we learned several basketball concepts.”
For Quentin Manso, the thrill extended beyond basketball to the opportunity to travel and connect with other youth from across the country: “What excited me the most was the trip. It wasn’t in Querétaro, it was in Mexico City, and I got to meet kids from states like Michoacán and Guanajuato.”
León García highlighted the challenge of staying focused during the tests: “Staying focused throughout all the physical and technical tests was the most challenging, but it helped me give my best.”
José Antonio Blanco emphasized the learning experience: “I learned to stay focused and calm during the tests, which was new for me. I also realized how important it is to give 100% at all times.”
Finally, Álvaro Guerrero described the atmosphere as competitive but enriching: “It was really cool and fun. The environment was competitive, but the people were great. Now, what’s next is to keep training and giving it my all.”
Coach Jorge Lardinois’ Perspective
Coach Lardinois expressed his pride and satisfaction at seeing his players excel: “It’s an honor that our boys were selected. Their effort and dedication during training were key. Seeing their performance during the tests and knowing they made few mistakes reflects their commitment.”
Regarding his own selection, he commented: “Being invited as one of the top coaches nationwide was an incredible experience. I’m thrilled to accompany them through this process and confident they’ll give their best in the next stages.”
The road to Europe is just beginning. The selected players will continue preparing to represent Mexico in the tournament in Denmark, and possibly in Spain as well. This achievement not only highlights the talent of our students but also reinforces JFK’s commitment to the holistic development of its community.

Cinco Jaguars seleccionados para representar a México en Europa
A finales de noviembre, cinco de nuestros alumnos fueron convocados para la primera concentración de la preselección nacional de la Liga Nacional de Clubes Amateur de Básquetbol MX (LNCA), en las categorías U13, U15 y U17 varonil. Junto a jóvenes de diversos estados del país, nuestros alumnos participaron en pruebas físicas y técnicas diseñadas para evaluar sus habilidades y potencial.
Además, el coach Jorge Lardinois, parte de nuestro equipo de entrenadores, fue invitado a formar parte del staff técnico en este proceso, consolidando el compromiso de JFK con la excelencia deportiva.
La experiencia en palabras de los protagonistas
Cada uno de los seleccionados vivió este momento único de forma especial. Jesús Guerrero compartió su entusiasmo al ser convocado: “Me sentí emocionado, feliz y también un poco nervioso. Lo que más disfruté fue el entrenamiento, porque aprendimos varios conceptos de básquetbol.”
Para Quentin Manso, la emoción no solo estaba en el básquetbol, sino en la oportunidad de viajar y conectar con otros jóvenes de todo el país: “Lo que más me emocionó fue el viaje, porque no era en Querétaro, fue en México. Además, conocí a niños de estados como Michoacán y Guanajuato.”
Mantener la concentración durante las pruebas fue un desafío para León García, quien destacó: “Estar enfocado durante todas las pruebas físicas y técnicas fue lo más retador, pero me ayudó a dar lo mejor de mí.”
José Antonio Blanco resaltó el aprendizaje obtenido durante la concentración: “Aprendí a mantenerme concentrado y sin nervios durante las pruebas, lo que fue nuevo para mí. También entendí la importancia de dar el 100% en todo momento.”
Finalmente, Álvaro Guerrero describió el ambiente como competitivo pero enriquecedor: “Fue algo muy padre y divertido. El ambiente era competitivo, pero había gente muy buena onda. Ahora lo que sigue es seguir entrenando.”
La visión del coach Jorge Lardinois
El coach expresó su orgullo y satisfacción al ver a sus jugadores destacar: “Es un honor que nuestros muchachos fueran seleccionados. Su esfuerzo y dedicación en los entrenamientos han sido clave. Ver su desempeño durante las pruebas y saber que tuvieron pocos errores es un reflejo de su compromiso.”
Sobre su propia convocatoria, comentó: “Ser invitado como uno de los mejores entrenadores a nivel nacional fue una experiencia increíble. Estoy emocionado de acompañarlos en este proceso y confiado en que darán lo mejor de sí en las siguientes etapas.”
El camino hacia Europa apenas comienza. Los seleccionados continuarán preparándose para representar a México en el torneo en Dinamarca, y posiblemente también en España. Este logro no solo reafirma el talento de nuestros alumnos, sino también el compromiso de JFK con el desarrollo integral de su comunidad.y
