This Monday, during the Elementary School Flag Ceremony, several students were recognized for showing kindness toward their peers. These actions were acknowledged by their classmates through the recently implemented Kindness Box.

This program, led by Miss Jimena Barbeito, Character Education teacher in Elementary School, aims to promote the recognition of kind, respectful, and supportive behaviors, reinforcing the values encouraged in her classes. As Miss Jimena explains:
“My class is held weekly, and sometimes we haven’t had sessions, so I thought of something more constant: placing a box in Miss Ana Pau’s office, where students can write about the kind and empathetic actions they notice among their peers. This encourages recognition to come directly from them, creating a stronger network of empathy and support.”

During the ceremony, some of the students who placed their acknowledgments in the box stepped forward to read their notes aloud. They also had the chance to personally thank the classmates whose kindness made a difference in their day.

This initiative not only strengthens empathy and camaraderie but also inspires the entire student community to value and replicate positive actions in their environment.

Celebrando la amabilidad: reconocimientos del Buzón de Kindness en Elementary School

Este lunes, durante la Flag Ceremony de Elementary School, se reconoció a varios alumnos que demostraron actitudes amables con sus compañeros. Estas acciones fueron agradecidas por sus propios compañeros a través del recientemente implementado Buzón de Kindness.

Este programa, liderado por Miss Jimena Barbeito, maestra de Character Education en Elementary School, busca fomentar el reconocimiento de actitudes amables, respetuosas y solidarias, reforzando así los valores promovidos en sus clases. Como explica Miss Jimena:
“Mi clase es semanal y, en ocasiones, no hemos tenido sesiones, por lo que pensé en algo más constante: colocar un buzón en la oficina de Miss Ana Pau, donde los alumnos puedan escribir sobre acciones amables y empáticas que noten entre sus compañeros. Esto fomenta que el reconocimiento venga directamente de ellos, creando una red más fuerte de empatía y apoyo”.

Durante la ceremonia, algunos de los alumnos que depositaron sus agradecimientos en el buzón pasaron al frente para leer sus cartas en voz alta. Además, tuvieron la oportunidad de agradecer directamente a los compañeros cuya amabilidad marcó la diferencia en su día.

Esta iniciativa no solo refuerza la empatía y el compañerismo, sino que también inspira a toda la comunidad estudiantil a valorar y replicar acciones positivas en su entorno.
