Building Synergy between LMC and HS Art: A Unique Collaborative Opportunity

Once again, the JFK Library Media Center, LMC, becomes the starting venue for the High School 9 grade students’ Art project.

In its ongoing effort to encourage reading, the LMC has invited students to choose the book they will read and use as inspiration for creating their artwork, which will later be displayed during Library Week, as is done every year. This time, students will be using a two-dimensional acrylic technique.

“There are lots of positive steps we can take to motivate students to use the school’s Library in order to aid their learning with safe, high quality resources and this has been another great opportunity to develop a synergy between the Arts subject and the Library”, Teacher Librarian Elizabeth Valenzuela explained.
